Parco dei Sette Fratelli

 

This park features many different natural beauties: it contains a thick forest and the River Cannas flows through the park´s canyon. Established in 1886, the park has stretched beyond its original borders and now houses cork trees, Mediterranean flora, alders, holm-oaks, oleanders, willow trees, Sardinian deer, mouflons (Picture 2), wild boar, amphibians, reptiles, and birds of prey.

 

The Cagliari Amphitheatre

 

Built in the 2nd century AD, the amphitheatre is used today as a venue of singing and theatrical performances. The slant of the surrounding ground makes this the perfect location for a theatre. The amphitheatre is surrounded by beautiful Sardinian rocks and trees.

 

Ruins of Nora

 

Believed to be the first town founded in Sardinia, Nora was most likely settled by the ancient Nuraghi people. After coming under Roman control in the 1st century AD, Nora went into decline until it was abandoned in the 8th centruy. It contains many ruins that are not excavated yet and a substantial part of the town is now under water.
 
Su Nuraxi in Barumini 

 

This nuraghic village centered around a three-level tower built in the 16th century BC. In the 1950´s, a foritfied village was excavated by archaeologists. It is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in Sardinia because its discovery helped historians put together a timeline of Sardinian civilization.
